Daily Telegraph theatre critic CHARLES SPENCER is retiring after 25 years with the paper. He was named the British Press Awards’ Critic of the Year in 1999 and again in 2008. The Telegraph's theatre team will be led by DOMINIC CAVENDISH, Spencer's deputy since 2000.

The Wales Council for Voluntary Action has appointed RUTH MARKS as its new Chief Executive. The current Director of Care and Development at Reach replaces GRAHAM BENFIELD, who stood down after 25 years in post.
Edge Hill University’s new Head of Performing Arts is DAVID PEIMER. His career in academia, writing and directing has included positions at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and New York University.

The new Head of Public Performance at music licensing company PPL will be SARAH MITCHELL, who joins from Eurostar International Limited. AMANDA CARMICHAEL, who was previously Director of Membership & Professional Standards at the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years, joins the company as Head of Member Services.
