Park Theatre has appointed chartered accountant IBUKUN ALAMUTU and Come From Away’s Producer JOE SMITH as trustees.

Smith and Alamutu join eight current trustees and Board Chair ANTHONY CLARE, who took up post earlier this year.

Alamutu is currently a Senior Associate Consultant at Bain & Company in London and a training company member at dance company Boy Blue Entertainment.

“I was drawn to the theatre’s commitment to accessibility and providing a platform for emerging producers. The team has been exceptional, overcoming great odds, during a period of grave uncertainty in the performing arts,” Alamutu said.

Smith, co-owner of Smith & Brant Theatricals, joins from his tenure as Board Chair at the Gate Theatre. His has formerly worked as a Producer for the National Theatre and Executive Producer at Old Vic Productions on shows including Billy Elliot and Sweeny Todd.

He said he is looking forward to working with Park Theatre: “As a local resident I know the benefit it brings to the area and how highly regarded it is by the audiences and community.”

Park Theatre Artistic Director JEZ BOND said the board has “continued to grow in strength” and is thrilled to welcome Smith and Alamutu.
