ARMOGHAN MOHAMMED is the new Chair of Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre.

He succeeds BEN CALDWELL, who has held the position since 2015.

Mohammed is PwC’s (PricewaterhouseCoopers) Regional Chair for the North, where is responsible for leading the company’s practice in the North of England, overseeing clients and community activity across the region.

“The Royal Exchange has a vision to change the way people see theatre and the world around them, and to give everyone access to the arts, and those values align closely with the way we work at PwC,” Mohammed said.

“I'm really honoured and excited to be taking on the role as Chair, and to support the Royal Exchange with all the incredible work they're doing in Manchester and the North.”

KATE VOKES has been named Deputy Chair. A trustee of the Royal Exchange since 2020, she is also the Non Executive Director of property business Bruntwood and Chair of the grant making charity Oglesby Charitable Trust.

Vokes added: “Supporting arts and culture to thrive is extremely important to me.

“I am passionate about how vital a dynamic, innovative and ambitious arts landscape is to any city, and that’s why becoming Deputy Chair of such a unique theatre, committed to supporting artists and communities and to making new work right here in Manchester, is incredibly exciting.”
