Watford Palace Theatre's Artistic Director and Chief Executive BRIGID LARMOUR is set to leave in spring next year.

The theatre is said to be undergoing a leadership restructure, involving a new business plan which does not include a permanent artistic director. Further details of the model are to be finalised next spring.

Larmour joined the theatre 16 years ago and has since been recognised for evolving the organisation's operational model, supporting freelancers and independent companies, increasing the diversity of its audiences and championing female perspectives, writers and creatives.

“It has been a joy to work on this stage, with this team, and in this town for the past 16 years. Now we have secured ACE funding to continue the Palace’s work into the next NPO period, I am excited to be able to move into the next chapter of my career,” Larmour commented.

Larmour’s final production will be The Merchant of Venice 1936, premiering at Watford Palace Theatre in February.
