Kamall and Andrew joins DCMS

Lord SYED KAMALL and STUART ANDREW have been appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for DCMS.

Their role falls within the ranks of junior ministers in the department that support Culture Secretary MICHELLE DONELAN.

A Professor of Politics and International Relations at St Mary’s University, Kamall was made a life peer in Feburary 2021.

He was Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Technology, Innovation and Life Sciences at the Department of Health and Social Care between September 2021 and September 2022.

He is a former Research Director at the Institutue of Economic Affairs and was once leader of the Conservatives in the European Parliament and Co-chair of the European Conservatives and Reformists.

Andrew has been Conservative MP for Pudsey since 2010.

Earlier this year, he served as Housing Minister in the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities for five months and Minister of State at the Ministry of Justice for two months.

He also worked as Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Minister for Defence Procurement from July 2018 to July 2019, and at the Wales Office from January 2018 to July 2018.
