BRUCE FREEMAN has taken over as Chair of The Courtyard, an artistic hub located in Hertford.

A member of The Courtyard’s board for four years, Freeman succeeds JOANNA COBB, who held the position for three years before retiring in November.

Freeman has spent his career in education, including 30 years as a science teacher. During this time, he stood as a stage manager for 13 shows and a producer for four musicals.

After teaching, Freeman set up his own Project Management Company and has since helped convert 13 schools around the country to academies.

“It is a huge honour to have been elected as Chair of the Board at the Courtyard Centre for the Arts, and I’d like to thank my fellow Directors for placing their trust in me,” said Freeman.

“I very much look forward to working alongside a fantastic group of people who work at The Courtyard, and to help steer The Courtyard towards a brighter and more secure future.”
