Aakash Odedra Company has appointed RI CHAKRABORTY as Chair.

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Chakraborty has nearly 30 years' experience as a broadcast journalist and executive producer. She is a board member at Norwich University of the Arts and an ambassador with the Digital Poverty Alliance, where she advises on content strategy.

Chakraborty succeeds LUCY PHILLIPS, who has sat on the board of the Leicester-based dance company for the last two years.
 
Chakraborty said it was an “immense honour”  to take up the role of Chair at the National Portfolio Organisation.

She added, “I am looking forward to supporting Aakash and his fantastic team and to leading the board, working closely with my fellow board members.”

Artistic director AAKASH ODEDRA said,  "I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for Lucy Phillips’s unwavering leadership and that of Anu Giri before her.

"Both have navigated Aakash Odedra Company through the challenges and triumphs of the last few years.
