Multinational entertainment group to manage Eastbourne theatres
Eastbourne Borough Council has partnered with a global live entertainment business to run the south-east coast town’s theatres.
Trafalgar Entertainment, founded by Sir Howard Panter and Dame Rosemary Squire in 2017, will manage Congress Theatre, Devonshire Park Theatre and the Winter Garden.
It will also look after conferencing and exhibition facilities at the Devonshire Quarter Complex.
Council leader, Stephen Holt, said: “The deal achieves key operational and financial objectives and ensures these jewels in the crown… will continue to delight audiences for years to come.”
Trafalgar said it was “delighted” to be working with the council, and that it would “protect these wonderful venues”.
They added: “Through Trafalgar’s unique model, Eastbourne audiences are assured that the best shows and events will be brought to Eastbourne, alongside major new productions premiering here.”
