Culture & Business Scotland launches new funding round
Cultural organisations in Scotland are invited to apply for funding facilitated by sponsorships from local businesses.
The seventh round of applications for a fund that connects culture organisations with business sponsorship opportunities is due to open this month in Scotland.
The fund will provide up to £12,000 in backing to successful applicants.
Bodies eligible for funding include grassroots initiatives and established cultural organisations, with priority given to those with strong ethical and environmental credentials.
“Since its launch, the Culture & Business Fund has helped to forge impactful relationships between culture organisations and businesses, with powerful and innovative results,” said Tommy McCormick, Culture & Business Scotland Fund Manager.
The fund is managed by Culture & Business Scotland and supported by the Scottish Government. Since its inauguration in 2017, it has disbursed more than £1.2m of funding, enabling over 200 projects across Scotland to come to fruition.
Past beneficiaries of the fund include theatre company Vision Mechanics, which was awarded £28,500 through a partnership with a local business, using the funding to create Scotland’s largest puppet, named Storm.
The project was run on a “nail-biting budget” and was only made possible by the funding, the organisation said.
Applications for the current funding round open on 17 May.
