CLARRIE WALLIS is moving from Tate to Turner Contemporary, where she will be the gallery's Director.

Wallis became Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the Tate in 2016. She started there as a curator in 1999.

During her tenure, Wallis re-established the Art Now programme for emerging artists and helped grow the Tate's collection. She also curated several notable exhibitions, including Steve McQueen's Year 3 show in 2019.

She replaces Turner Contemporary's Founding Director VICTORIA POMERY, who left in September to become Chief Executive of The Box, Plymouth.
